Poornima:Sairam, I asked SWMD two questions on behalf of friends. Here is their response:
1. Can labels be left on, on recyclable containers?
A. Yes.
2. On Shampoo bottles, hand soaps, etc, can we leave on the pumps?
A. Yes, you can recycle them with the pumps on. No need to take off.
Aerosol cans (like whipped cream) can be recycled without removing pump (no need to rinse either, because, it's difficult to take off the pump).
General rule is, please empty contents, and if necessary rinse with water and place cap back on & toss in recycle bin.

Shubhi used an empty spinach container, drilled holes at the bottom, added soil & planted some papaya seeds. They have grown into small saplings.

This was done by Shubhi Shekhawat from Little Rock Sai Center SSE Grp 2 student. It was interesting to think of ideas to reuse the plastic waste being generated at home.
